GET TO KNOW OKURCALAR

A sense of the place.

Okurcalar is best explored as a collection of particular coastal settings rather than one uniform beach. Bays, hotel frontages and local roads create different experiences within the wider area. A walk at the shore tells only part of that story.

Life between the sights.

Start with the place where you would spend a normal morning, then try the route to shops and the beach. Return later to see the change in atmosphere. Everyday access is especially useful to understand when you plan to stay beyond a short holiday.

OKURCALAR, A LITTLE CLOSER

A bay-side base for a slower holiday.

Okurcalar can be enjoyed as a place to settle into the coast, with the Alara area providing an inland change of scene when you want a different kind of day.

01 / MAKE TIME TO DISCOVER

Beyond the beach, another landscape.

The Alara area offers an inland contrast to the coastal setting of Okurcalar. History and rocky hillsides add another dimension to a holiday that might otherwise stay entirely beside the water.

Plan a distinct excursion rather than assuming the historical sites are part of a beach walk. Check current access to Alara Han and the route you intend to take. Leave room to enjoy the landscape and return without turning the day into a race between destinations.

02 / ANOTHER SIDE OF THE DAY

A day with room for a good book.

Let the beach be more than a stop between excursions. Settle somewhere comfortable, read for a while and let the afternoon take its own shape.

Keep water and shade close, and plan a meal when you feel ready to leave your spot. The photograph is an illustration of that slower rhythm, rather than a named Okurcalar beach club.

03 / YOUR DAY, YOUR PACE

A few moments
to build a day around.

Choose the stops that appeal to you. Leave room for a longer lunch, a favourite view or a change of plan.

  1. Morning · enjoy the bay setting

Begin close to where you are staying and give the coast an unhurried morning.

  2. Afternoon · choose a change of scene

Visit the Alara area on a dedicated outing, or stay by the water.

  3. Evening · keep it simple

Choose dinner around your preferred pace and arrange the return journey before settling in.

IF YOU ARE STAYING LONGER

From a visit to a daily rhythm.

Resort facilities and independently accessible places are different things. Check which shops, beach entrances and dining options you can use outside your accommodation, especially for a longer stay.
