Breakfast, with time to spare.
Bread, tea and a table to linger over. Start with a simple local routine before heading out.

Sea air, neighbourhood streets and a life that changes with the seasons. Discover the Alanya you get to know by staying a little longer.
Get a feel for life hereAlanya is a coastal city in Antalya Province, with the Taurus Mountains behind it and a historic peninsula reaching into the sea. The castle and the Red Tower give it a familiar silhouette; the neighbourhoods around them give it everyday life.
The holiday view is only part of the picture. Streets, markets, cafés and local routines sit alongside beaches and places to explore. Living here means getting to know both.
Not a timetable to follow. A few ways to find your own pace.

Bread, tea and a table to linger over. Start with a simple local routine before heading out.

Pick up seasonal fruit, choose something for dinner and get to know the local stalls. Check the market day in your neighbourhood and make shopping part of your own routine.

Leave time to enjoy the shoreline, with a route and hour that suit the day’s weather.

A café terrace, something to eat and a reason not to hurry home straight away.
Hot, generally dry summers. Milder, wetter winters. The season changes how the city feels — and how you use your day.

As the days grow warmer, make space for the city on foot and outings into the surrounding landscape. Spring is a change of pace between the wetter winter and the height of summer.
Weather changes from day to day; spring is not a promise of dry skies.

Summer brings hot, generally dry weather and a busier holiday atmosphere. Many days work best with an early start, a shaded pause and time outdoors again as the light softens.
Heat, humidity and sea conditions vary. Check the day’s forecast before outdoor plans.

As the season moves on, the coast changes from the height of the holiday period towards cooler days and a higher chance of rain. It is a useful time to experience the city beyond its summer image.
Early and late autumn can feel quite different; pack for your actual travel dates.

Alanya’s Mediterranean winters are generally milder and wetter than its summers. Bright spells can sit alongside rain, wind and rougher seas. Daily life continues, with a different rhythm from a beach holiday.
Winter does not mean year-round swimming weather. Check current conditions locally.

You do not have to choose between a coastal day and a little culture. Leave time for both.

Walk around the Red Tower and harbour, explore the castle peninsula, or make a separate visit to the Alanya Archaeological Museum. Check current opening and ticket arrangements when planning cultural stops.
Explore Alanya Centre ↗
Enjoy the beach or a walk with a view. For a boat outing or water activity, choose a suitable operator and check conditions. Each part of the shoreline has its own access, surface and atmosphere.

Rivers, canyon scenery and the rising ground behind the city bring another kind of day into reach.
The lower Dim River meets the coastal city between Tosmur and Kestel. Further inland, the valley is a separate outing: plan your route and check the places you want to visit.
The riverside setting ↗The western coast offers another outdoor setting, with the beach and nature park around İncekum. Confirm current access arrangements and keep the day as unhurried as you like.
Explore İncekum ↗The northern hills change the way you see Alanya. Walking and cycling plans should match the slopes, traffic, heat and your experience; start with a route that suits you.
Look towards Bektaş ↗

Local oranges, a Mediterranean salad, a trout dish or a simple café stop: food is one way to start a conversation with the place. Alanya has both traditional diners and a wide choice of places to eat.
Markets make room for colour and everyday shopping. Confirm the location and day locally, then leave a little time to look around. You do not need a special occasion for a tea break.
Find a few places you enjoy returning to. Familiar routines often make more of a difference than a long list of attractions.
Small practical checks help turn an appealing place into a workable routine.
Try the journeys you expect to make. Check current bus routes, road crossings and gradients at your exact address; the coast and the hills need different routines.
Walk to the shops you would use in a normal week. Confirm market days and local opening hours rather than assuming the same routine in every neighbourhood.
Contact schools and healthcare providers directly about your own requirements, current availability and languages. Include those journeys when comparing locations.
Test the internet connection, mobile coverage and a quiet working space where you will actually stay. A holiday café and an everyday workspace may serve different needs.
Think about shade and cooling in summer, heating and damp in winter, and the way your home is ventilated. Spend time here in the season you plan to use it.
Visit by day and in the evening. A lively central street, a coastal location and a hillside setting can feel quite different, even within the same city.
